Portugal has just launched a travel insurance for foreign tourists, called ‘Portugal Travel Insurance’.
“Visitors who reside abroad and are planning their holidays in Portugal can now subscribe to ‘Portugal Travel Insurance’, a travel insurance adapted to the new pandemic reality brought about by Covid-19. The initiative is promoted by RNA Seguros de Assistência, and is available at portugaltravelinsurance.com ”, adds a statement from Turismo de Portugal.
According to this document, “the coverage extends to the entire national territory and covers, among others, medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospital expenses associated with Covid-19, as well as expenses for cancellation, interruption or extension of the trip, also for the same pandemic.
“The objective is to guarantee, to all who visit Portugal, that they can travel around the country, safe and with confidence”, assures Turismo de Portugal, adding that this is another initiative that Turismo de Portugal “is divulging to the markets to reinforce the security of the destination, in addition to the creation of the ‘Clean & Safe’ seal and the renewal of the ‘Portugal Health Passport’, which now includes Covid-19 tests and is available to all who visit the our country”.
Tourists planning to come to Portugal will be able to register for free on the Health Passport website through the PortugalHealthPassport, which guarantees them the possibility of performing the covid-19 test and access, at previously fixed prices, to high quality urgent health care or check-ups of five different typologies, in the network of hospitals and clinics of CUF, Hospital da Luz , HPA Saúde and Lusíadas, throughout the national territory
Through initiatives and projects of this nature, Portugal consolidates its positioning as a safe destination that guarantees all the essential sanitary conditions for the enjoyment of the unique tourist experiences it offers. In addition, in order to design the country and encourage the resumption of tourism activity, the Portugal Tourism teams, present in 25 strategic markets, have also intensified their work with airlines, tour operators, the press and the final consumer. The actions developed position Portugal as a tourist destination of excellence, one of the goals of the Tourism Strategy 2027.
